Jesse Faden is central to CONTROL Resonant's story, but Dylan is the playable protagonist. Jesse is missing at the start, and finding his sister gives Dylan a personal reason to enter Manhattan's crisis. This is the official opening premise, not the ending revelation.

What carries over from Control?

Jesse is Dylan's sister and the protagonist of the original game. She freed him from the Hiss, although he remained unconscious afterward. The sequel starts after that situation changes: Dylan wakes, Jesse is absent, and he must act beyond the Bureau's headquarters.

That reversal matters to the story. The sibling Jesse once tried to save now has to search for her, while learning what happened in the years he lost. You can read Dylan's character guide without exposing the final scenes.

Can you switch to Jesse?

No character-switching option or separate playable Jesse campaign is established by Remedy's character announcement. It explicitly places the player in Dylan's role. Trailers, appearances in the narrative, and a character's importance are not evidence of a selectable character.

Looking for her final fate?

The ending explanation discusses Jesse's role in the last confrontation and the epilogue. It contains major spoilers. This page intentionally stops at the setup, so a new player can confirm playability and the relationship between the games without learning the resolution.

No future DLC role is confirmed here. That would require a separate announcement rather than an inference from the ending.
