Meet the playable Faden sibling, his connection to the first game, and the weapon and abilities that define his role.
Dylan Faden is CONTROL Resonant's playable protagonist. The story follows him out of confinement and into a distorted Manhattan, where he searches for his missing sister Jesse. His combat centers on the shape-changing melee weapon Aberrant and supernatural abilities.
The Federal Bureau of Control took Dylan from Ordinary as a child. In the original Control, the Hiss possessed him; Jesse cleared that influence, after which he remained in a coma. Resonant begins after he wakes, with Jesse missing and a new crisis outside the Oldest House. The sequel therefore changes both the protagonist and the perspective on the Bureau.
The opening premise is enough to start this guide. For the conclusion and the siblings' final choices, use the separately marked ending explanation, which contains full spoilers.
Aberrant takes different forms, including blades and a heavy hammer. Weapon choice changes reach, timing and the way attacks connect; it is not a cosmetic replacement for Jesse's Service Weapon. Dylan also acquires abilities by defeating powerful Resonant enemies. See abilities and unlocks for the progression order and weapon choices for practical tradeoffs.
Reach and Shift support traversal through Manhattan's distorted spaces. Field agent Zoe De Vera helps Dylan understand the outside world and the Bureau's operations. The map consists of large connected zones rather than one unrestricted open world.
Remedy identifies Dylan as the playable character and describes Jesse as central to the story. Her importance does not imply a second selectable campaign. This page describes the released game's premise and official character role; it does not promise future playable characters or DLC.
