CONTROL Resonant Freeze Frame: camera routes and reset rules

Freeze Frame requires closing 14 camera shutters from behind, followed by a final containment encounter in Downtown. If a roaming camera sees you, move away until its click signals that it has returned, then approach along the rear route you opened. ^[01]

Prepare the movement and combat powers

There are two cameras in each of seven zones. Completing the Jesse Sightings Faults gives the traversal tools needed for the full search. Some routes also need Ground Slam to break a rooftop barrier or Ignite/Inferno to clear a fire-sensitive obstruction. Equip the required power before treating such a route as blocked by a bug. ^[01]

The Unknown's construction site can be on the opposite gravity layer from where you first arrive. If the expected building is absent, check the inverted side of the area. First example: the Watchtower

From Zoe's overlook, go down to the storage/scaffolding route. Near the point where you climb toward the camera, look for another opening above you. Double-jump through that ceiling hole, follow the upper path and drop behind the camera. Interact with the shutter from the rear.

Being spotted while discovering the route does not ruin this step. Walk away, wait for the reset click and repeat the rear approach. The same 'open route, reset, return' pattern solves several later cameras. ^[02]

The final Downtown encounter is different

After camera 14, answer the call and visit the marked Downtown area. Shut down the cameras appearing inside that objective area without being seen. Detection resets this final sequence, so it is not enough to assume your previous shutters stay closed as they did during the roaming search. Finish the full sequence to complete the quest and progress the Altered Item requirement. ^[01]
