Find the taxis by zone, then use lights, repairs and shadows to choose the correct vehicle inside each Threshold.

The Last Taxi has one taxi in each of seven zones. You can find them in different orders. Inside each Threshold, speak to Mila on the phone, then solve three rounds of that area's puzzle. Learn the visual rule rather than memorizing a parking position: the correct car can move after a mistake.
The Evacuation Zone taxi is a convenient early entry because its route needs no special movement power. From the yellow parking-lot entrance in the south, head east, follow the red Hiss-filled alley, then turn east again and pass the hazards.
| Zone | Landmark and access condition |
|---|---|
| Downtown | Flashing taxi at the south end of the eastern traffic jam; Reach opens the northeast elevator route |
| Central | Small lot near a dumpster in the northwest, reached through the mine-lined alley west of the Field Office |
| Evacuation Zone | Hazard-filled alley east of the southern parking lot |
| West Incursion Zone | Sideways white building beyond the House of Mirrors rooftop route; Shift required |
| The Park | Alcove inside the upper parking-garage area; approach from its northern side |
| Underpass | Dark northeast corner of the yellow Mold room beyond the late-story cable-car route |
| Unknown | Western side of the Patterned Evac Building area reached during Pope's Research |
The source walkthrough includes map images for the long West Incursion rooftop route and the Unknown's changing orientation. Open the illustrated locations.
| Taxi origin | Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown | Roof sign is lit | Roof sign stays on when approached | Approach a car while watching all signs; take the car whose sign turns on |
| Central | All lights are on | Only the roof sign is lit | Both headlights and tail lights are on |
| Evacuation Zone | Lights blink opposite the other cars | Lights blink twice rather than once | Lights never blink |
| West Incursion Zone | Streetlight above the car blinks | Streetlight above the car does not blink | Streetlight is on while the others are off |
| Underpass | Car lights remain on after streetlights go dark | Car lights are off when streetlights go dark | Car lights alternate against the streetlights |
Watch a full cycle before entering. On the Underpass's final round, checking only one still moment can make the correct behavior hard to distinguish. Green lights on the traffic signal record successful choices. A failed choice does not require you to begin the entire taxi chain again.
First recover the hood from the central Mold and the trunk lid from a nearby southern clump. Attach both to the first car.
For the second car, find the tire beside it, the hood farther east past the Mold hazards, and the second tire at the far crosswalk. Match the parts' color to the taxi; misplaced-looking colored parts are decoys.
The third car is trapped by a Mold growth. Follow its connecting tendrils to the three outer nodes and clear them before attacking the center. Then recover the hood near the northwest newsstand, roof sign behind the car, trunk lid to the east and bumper near the southeastern subway entrance. Attach the missing pieces and enter.
Move the floodlight and compare the vehicles' shadows. The correct shadow is a taxi, including its rooftop sign. Later rounds add more similar-looking alternatives, but the identifying rule stays the same. Check the shadow itself, not the apparent shape of the car in front of you.
After all seven locations, speak to Mila again and leave the Threshold. IGN's launch-version walkthrough reports no item reward at completion and leaves Mila's fate uncertain. That observation should not be turned into a guaranteed hidden reward or a definite story outcome.
